Unauthenticated account takeover during password reset
Published May 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Weak password recovery in JetBrains TeamCity before 2020.2.3 allows remote attackers to take over accounts during password reset. JetBrains has not published the defective password-reset operation or the input, token, or state handling that enables the takeover. Network access requires no attacker privileges, but exploitation requires a victim to interact with the attack mechanism; the compromised account's existing permissions bound the resulting access.
