Root code execution via crafted HTTP GET
Published Sep 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Siemens Siveillance OIS across five building-management products allows remote attackers to execute code as root. A request handler fails to neutralize special elements in a specific HTTP GET request before passing attacker-controlled data to an operating-system command. No authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation executes attacker-supplied code with root privileges.
