Timing side channel in Redmine before 4.0.9 and 4.1.0 through 4.1.2 allows remote attackers to recover internal authentication keys. SysController and MailHandlerController compare attacker-supplied key values with configured secrets using ordinary string equality, whose variable timing leaks matching-prefix information. Unauthenticated network access to either enabled endpoint permits repeated timing probes; the documented consequence is key disclosure, not data modification or service interruption.
