CVE-2021-31845

Elevated code execution via Ami Pro parser overflow

Published Sep 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in McAfee DLP Discover before 10.6.100 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted Ami Pro file. The KeyView SDK3 lasr.dll parser copies oversized Ami Pro content into a fixed-size destination after checking the source length incorrectly. Access to a scanned network repository and a subsequent DLP Discover content scan are required, and successful exploitation runs code with elevated privileges.
