Kernel-memory disclosure via speculative BPF stack loads
Published May 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in the Linux kernel through 5.12.1 allows local users to read kernel stack data through a side channel. The BPF verifier's stack-pointer sanitization permits transient intermediate offsets to load unwritten stack slots containing residual kernel data. Loading an unprivileged BPF program is required; disclosed kernel addresses can weaken KASLR and facilitate exploitation of another flaw.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
