Stored script execution via unescaped AD usernames
Published Jul 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Zoho ManageEngine Applications Manager before 15130 allows remote authenticated users to execute script via imported AD names. The /admin/userconfiguration.do import view inserts fetched Active Directory first- and last-name values into HTML without escaping, so script tags execute when the record is selected. Exploitation requires control of an AD user name and interaction by an Applications Manager user; executed script can read browser-accessible data or alter the page in that user’s session.
