Password disclosure via failed or timed-out commands
Published Apr 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext password exposure in Sentry Software Hardware Sentry KM before 10.0.01 allows remote attackers to read credentials after a command error. When a monitoring command fails or times out, the product leaves its associated password discoverable in plain text; the vendor does not identify the affected code path or exposure surface. The command must fail or time out, and the bounded consequence is password disclosure rather than data modification or service interruption.
