Remote command execution via reflected process-page XSS
Published Apr 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Webmin 1.973 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute commands through the Running Processes feature. The Running Processes response reflects attacker-controlled request content into the page without neutralizing executable browser markup. Exploitation requires a setup.pl installation with unknown-referer checks disabled and a logged-in user to follow a malicious link; packaged installations are not affected.
