CVE-2021-31745Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Persistent administrative access via fixed session identifiers

Published Dec 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Session fixation in login.php in Pluck CMS 4.7.15 allows remote authenticated users to retain administrative access after a password change. The administrative login accepts an attacker-chosen PHPSESSID, reuses that identifier after authentication, and neither expires nor otherwise binds the resulting session. Exploitation requires prior access to an administrator password or session, after which the fixed cookie grants continued panel access from another browser despite a password reset.
