Unauthenticated code execution via database backup upload
Published May 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted backup upload in emlog 5.3.1 and 6.0.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through admin/data.php. The admin/data.php handler accepts a database backup upload without sufficiently restricting file content that the server processes as executable code. NVD assesses the path as remotely reachable without authentication or user interaction, and successful exploitation grants code execution on the host.
