Stored script execution via unescaped image titles
Published Jun 30, 2021 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Chevereto before 3.17.1 allows remote attackers to run script in a viewer's browser via an image title. The image-upload workflow accepts a crafted title and later renders the stored value without neutralizing executable markup. No authentication is required to submit the title, but a separate user must view the affected image; execution is limited to that user's browser context.
