Stored XSS via unescaped session sort value
Published May 9, 2023 · Updated Jan 29, 2025
Stored XSS in Trippo Responsive Filemanager 9.14.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via the sort_by parameter. The sort action in ajax_calls.php writes sort_by to the session without validation, and dialog.php later inserts the stored value into the page without escaping. Exploitation requires a victim browser to initialize the file-manager session, load attacker-controlled frames that store the payload, and reopen dialog.php; the script then runs in the victim's browser context.
