CVE-2021-3164Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unrestricted resource upload

Published Jan 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Unrestricted file upload in ChurchRota 2.6.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through resources.php. The POST handler copies the resourcefile upload into the web-accessible documents directory using its supplied filename, without checking the file type or the user's upload permission. Any logged-in low-privilege account can upload a PHP web shell and request it from the documents path, executing commands with the web server's privileges.
