Unauthenticated information disclosure via Spring API bypass
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authentication bypass in Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server before 9.2.0.0 allows remote attackers to extract information via Spring APIs. The default applicationContext-spring-security.xml configuration leaves Spring API access-control checks bypassable, allowing unauthenticated requests to return pieces of platform information. No credentials or prior platform knowledge are required, and the documented consequence is limited to confidentiality disclosure without reported data modification or service interruption.
