Credential disclosure via unrestricted getDatasources call
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Hitachi Vantara Pentaho Business Analytics Server allows remote authenticated users to read database credentials. The /pentaho/webservices/datasourceMgmtService SOAP endpoint lets any authenticated account invoke getDatasources, which returns every configured data source with cleartext usernames and passwords. Low-privilege access is sufficient, and the response also exposes database names, hosts, ports, and connection settings.
