CVE-2021-31600Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated username enumeration via SOAP services

Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

User enumeration in Hitachi Vantara Pentaho through 9.1 allows remote authenticated users to list valid usernames through SOAP web services. The SOAP scripting services expose an operation that returns every valid username without restricting the result to authorized account data. Any authenticated account, regardless of privilege, can obtain the username list; the documented consequence is confidentiality loss through account enumeration, not data modification or service interruption.
