Administrative access retention via stale JWT claims
Published Jul 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect access control in PwnDoc before 0.4.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain administrative access through stale JWTs. The backend validates a token cryptographically but fails to compare its embedded user, role, and permission claims with current database state. Possession of a previously issued administrative token is required; it permits administration-panel access and user or data changes after revocation.
