CVE-2021-31516

Code execution via BNDB object use-after-free

Published Jun 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in BNDB parsing in Vector 35 Binary Ninja 2.3.2660 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted BNDB file. The parser performs operations on a BNDB object without first validating that the object still exists, leaving a freed object reference usable. Execution requires the target to approve and open the file, and code runs with the privileges of the Binary Ninja process.
