Remote code execution via hard-coded credentials
Published Jun 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in GE Vernova Reason RPV311 14A03 and earlier allow remote attackers to execute code as the download user. The device firmware and filesystem embed fixed credentials that the authentication path accepts, granting access to the download account. No prior authentication is required, but network access to the appliance's private industrial or substation network is necessary; control is limited to the download user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
