Code execution via unchecked U3D data ranges
Published May 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Foxit PDF Reader 10.1.3.37598 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted U3D PDF. The Windows 3D Plugin Beta fails to validate illogical U3D data ranges and reads past the end of an allocated data structure. Execution occurs in the current process only after a user visits a malicious page or opens the file; malformed input can also crash the application.
