Guest-to-host memory disclosure via shared-data race
Published Apr 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Open Tools Gate in Parallels Desktop 15.1.5-47309 allows local users to read host kernel memory. The VMM rereads a shared UEFI request data-size field after returning from prl_vm_app, letting concurrent requests enlarge WriteLinear() and trigger an out-of-bounds read. Low-privileged code in a guest must win the race; the disclosure can expose hypervisor memory and support a guest-to-host exploit chain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
