CVE-2021-31417

Host memory disclosure via uninitialized Toolgate access

Published Apr 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Uninitialized memory use in Parallels Desktop 15.1.4-47270 allows local users to disclose host memory through Toolgate. The Toolgate component accesses memory without first initializing it, exposing residual data across the guest-to-hypervisor boundary. Low-privileged guest code is required; the disclosure can support a vulnerability chain that executes code in the hypervisor context.
