FXPC crash via specific DHCPv6 packets
Published Oct 19, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper input validation in Juniper Networks Junos OS 18.4R3-S7 allows remote attackers to crash FXPC with specific DHCPv6 packets. The Packet Forwarding Engine manager processes the crafted DHCPv6 input without adequate validation, causing the FXPC service to terminate. The packet must reach an affected ACX Series device, and continued delivery sustains the service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
