Code execution via unchecked DFT buffer write
Published Jun 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Siemens Solid Edge SE2020 before 2020MP14 and SE2021 before SE2021MP5 allows attackers to execute code via a DFT file. The ugeom2d.dll DFT parser fails to validate user-supplied data before writing past the end of an allocated structure. Exploitation requires a user to open a malicious DFT file and runs code in the current process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
