Process crash via unchecked sample-group entry dereference
Published Apr 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in GPAC MP4Box 1.0.1 allows attackers to crash the process by supplying a crafted media file. The gf_isom_cenc_get_default_info_internal function retrieves a null sample-group entry with gf_list_get and dereferences its key_info member without checking the returned pointer. Processing an attacker-supplied file through MP4Box is required, and the demonstrated consequence is termination of that process.
