Stored browser script execution via variable name
Published Feb 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in robust.systems Custom Global Variables 1.0.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser. The settings form stores the vars[0][name] value in the database without neutralizing injected markup, then renders it when the same functionality is opened. An authenticated user must submit the crafted field, and a second user must revisit the affected settings view, where the script runs in that viewer's browser context.
