Installed-application disclosure via improper permission validation
Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 15.2 allows local users to identify installed applications through a malicious app. Apple identifies the affected locus only as NetworkExtension and states that improper permissions validation exposes the application inventory. A malicious application must run locally, and the disclosed consequence is limited to discovering which applications are installed.
