Memory disclosure via out-of-bounds USD parsing
Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
An out-of-bounds read in Model I/O in Apple iOS, iPadOS, and macOS allows attackers to disclose memory via a crafted USD file. Model I/O processes attacker-controlled USD data without sufficient bounds checking, causing a read beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires a user or application to process the file; disclosed memory can expose data from the affected process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
