CVE-2021-30902Public exploit

Local code execution via Voice Control race

Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Use-after-free in Apple iOS and iPadOS Voice Control before 14.8.1 and before 15.1 allows local users to crash the service or execute code. RDAudioBufferQueue and RDMainQueue can process callbacks after audio-buffer context or XPC connection objects have been released, corrupting the program counter. Repeatedly toggling Voice Control, including through Siri at the lock screen, supplies the timing condition; a successful trigger terminates speechrecognitiond or executes arbitrary code.
