CVE-2021-30882

Call audio access via incomplete FaceTime validation

Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

A FaceTime logic flaw in iOS and iPadOS before 15 and watchOS before 8 allows attackers to access microphone input during calls. Apple identifies inadequate validation in FaceTime but has not published the affected function or precise state transition that preserves microphone access. Exploitation requires a locally installed application with microphone permission and exposes call audio without granting broader device control.
