Remote-server contact via mishandled document-load state
Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Logic error in Quick Look in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 15 allows remote attackers to trigger server contact via an HTML note attachment. Quick Look mishandles document-load state when previewing attached HTML, allowing embedded remote resources to load unexpectedly; Apple has not disclosed a deeper code-level locus. A user must preview the crafted attachment, and the documented consequence is outbound server contact that exposes connection metadata.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
