Kernel out-of-bounds read in Apple macOS before 11.6 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. The kernel insufficiently validates application-controlled input before reading it, permitting an out-of-bounds access; Apple has not disclosed the affected function or data path. Execution of a malicious local application is required, and affected releases include Big Sur before 11.6 and Catalina without Security Update 2021-005.
