Arbitrary code execution via Foundation type confusion
Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Type confusion in Foundation in Apple iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted web content. Apple states that memory handling was improved but has not published the Foundation routine, confused object types, or invalid operation. Successful exploitation requires the target to process the crafted content, after which attacker-supplied code runs in the affected process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
