Arbitrary code execution via malicious dfont processing
Published Oct 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Code execution in Apple macOS before 11.6 allows context-dependent attackers to run arbitrary code through a malicious dfont file. FontParser processes the crafted dfont file, but Apple has not disclosed which check fails or what unsafe operation occurs. Exploitation requires the file to reach FontParser and user interaction to trigger processing, after which code executes in the affected process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
