Memory disclosure via crafted USD file
Published Oct 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Model I/O in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 15 allows attackers to disclose memory via a crafted USD file. Model I/O inadequately validates USD input before reading it, causing crafted file data to be read beyond the intended buffer boundary. Processing requires the device to open the file; the reported consequence is memory disclosure, with no reported write or service-interruption impact.
