Arbitrary code execution via Model I/O image write
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Model I/O in Apple iOS before 14.7 and macOS before 11.5 allows local users to execute arbitrary code via malicious images. Model I/O writes image-derived data beyond the destination buffer because input bounds are not validated. Exploitation requires a user or application to process the crafted image; code executes with the processing application's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
