Process-memory disclosure via FontParser out-of-bounds read
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in FontParser in Apple macOS before 11.4 allows context-dependent attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted font. FontParser reads beyond a buffer boundary while parsing untrusted font data because input validation is insufficient. The font must be processed by an affected application; the disclosed data is limited to memory in that process.
