Arbitrary code execution via out-of-bounds image read
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Compression in Apple iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS allows attackers to execute code via a crafted image. Compression reads beyond an input buffer while parsing attacker-controlled image data because input bounds are not adequately validated. The target must process the crafted image, and successful exploitation runs arbitrary code in the affected process context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
