Memory disclosure via out-of-bounds USD parser read
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in Model I/O on Apple iOS and iPadOS before 14.6 and macOS before 11.4 allows attackers to disclose memory via a crafted USD file. The Model I/O USD parser accepts crafted data that drives a read past the end of an allocated data structure. Exploitation requires a user or application to process the file; the direct consequence is exposure of process memory, while code execution requires chaining another flaw.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
