Activation bypass via invalid result acceptance
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authentication bypass in CommCenter in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 14.6 allows remote attackers to make devices accept invalid activation results. CommCenter fails to reject invalid activation results because its restrictions are insufficient; Apple has not disclosed the faulty check. The attack is unauthenticated and network-reachable; published evidence establishes an activation-integrity failure but no further effect.
