Adjacent Wi-Fi authentication downgrade
Published Sep 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper authentication in Wi-Fi in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 14.6 allows physically proximate attackers to force weaker authentication. Apple has not disclosed the failed validation check or the Wi-Fi authentication negotiation state affected by the logic error. The attacker must be within Wi-Fi range, and the documented consequence is limited to forcing a less secure authentication mechanism.
