Unauthenticated command execution via web UI input
Published Apr 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OS command injection in Symantec Security Analytics allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands with elevated privileges via the web UI. The web UI fails to validate attacker-controlled input before passing it into an operating-system command execution path. Exploitation requires network access to the web UI and grants command execution with the privileges of the affected appliance service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=Security Analytics 7.2 prior 7.2.7, 8.1 prior to 8.1.3-NSR3, 8.2 prior to 8.2.1-NSR2 or 8.2.2
