Heap corruption via racy jank-window indexing
Published Sep 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in Chromium Base internals in Microsoft Edge before 93.0.961.38 allows remote attackers to corrupt heap memory. The I/O jank monitor can pair a blocking call's sampled start time with a newer monitoring window, causing AddJank to index outside its interval storage. Exploitation requires a user to open crafted HTML, and successful memory corruption can crash the browser or redirect execution within its process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
