Cross-origin data disclosure via image policy bypass
Published Aug 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Insufficient image policy enforcement in Google Chrome before 92.0.4515.107 allows remote attackers to read cross-origin data on Windows. The image-handling path fails to apply the policy that blocks a crafted HTML page from reading data belonging to another origin. Exploitation requires a user to load attacker-controlled HTML in an affected Windows browser; the reported consequence is confidentiality loss only.
