Heap corruption via Accessibility use-after-free
Published Jun 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in Accessibility in Google Chrome before 91.0.4472.101 allows attackers to exploit heap corruption through a crafted HTML page. The Accessibility component accesses heap memory after it has been released while handling content triggered by a malicious extension and crafted page. Exploitation requires convincing a user to install the malicious extension and load the page; the resulting corruption can crash the browser or potentially enable code execution.
