Remote code execution via untrusted replCommand
Published Apr 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Command injection in dramforever vscode-ghc-simple before 0.2.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted workspace. The workspace configuration loader passes ghcSimple.replCommand to the custom GHCi startup path without first requiring trust in the command and workspace path. Opening a Haskell file in an attacker-supplied workspace triggers the configured binary with the developer's privileges.
