CVE-2021-30494Public exploit

Service interruption via registry-directed log creation

Published Apr 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Path manipulation in Razer Synapse 3 3.5.1030.101917 allows local users to interrupt services through a registry value. The privileged RzSDKService.exe service reads the user-writable ChromaBroadcast InstallPath value, appends a fixed Logs\RzSDKService.exe.log suffix, and creates the resulting log file. Exploitation requires a local low-privileged account and a service restart or system reboot; the demonstrated consequence is system instability, not control of the filename or initial contents.
