Denial of service via writable registry log path
Published Apr 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect permissions in the ChromaBroadcast registry key in Razer Synapse 3 3.5.1030.101917 allow local users to cause denial of service. RzSDKService.exe trusts a user-writable InstallPath value, appends its fixed runtime-log filename, and creates the resulting path with system privileges. Low-privileged Windows access and a service restart or reboot are required; the demonstrated consequence is system instability through constrained arbitrary file creation.
