CVE-2021-30356Public exploit

Service interruption via symlinked support-log archive

Published Apr 22, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Link-following in Check Point Identity Agent before R81.018.0000 allows local users to overwrite protected Windows system files. During support-log collection, its SYSTEM service writes a Cabinet archive to a user-selected directory and follows attacker-created symbolic links. A low-privileged Windows session and timing across predictable timestamped filenames are required; the overwrite can corrupt a system file and interrupt service.
