CVE-2021-30344Network attack vector

Service interruption via replayed LTE security command

Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper authorization in Qualcomm Snapdragon LTE modem firmware allows remote attackers to interrupt cellular service via a replayed command. The modem accepts a replayed LTE security mode command without proper authorization and processes it as a valid control-plane instruction. Network access to the LTE control plane is sufficient; no credentials or user interaction are required, and the reported effect is limited to availability.
